DRAGON OPTICAL’S FREE DRAW HAD OVER 12 WINNERS FOR FREE HATS, T-SHIRTS, GOGGLES AND SUNGLASSES
Richmond, Ontario, July 1 and 2, 2006. The weather was a mixed bag this weekend of sun, cloud, rain, thunderstorms which did not dampen the spirits of the racers for the fifth round of the Ontario Provincial Championships at Sand Dee Lee. Dragon Optical stepped up huge with a free draw for sunglasses, goggles, hats and T-Shirts and MX Mechanics announced over 10 winners this weekend.
“The MX Mechanics race team put all their Dragon Optical products to work this weekend with the heat, sun and rain,” states Ryan Gauld, Team Manger and Pro Rider for MX Mechanics. “I think we went through 4 packages of tear offs racing this weekend after that big thunder storm, putting the Dragon Goggles and their tear off system through it’s paces, the system worked perfect”.
MX Mechanics would like to thank all the participants in the Dragon Draw, we saw over 10 winners from both the Southwestern and Eastern Ontario CMRC Regions, lots of smiles as the winners walked away with their prizes.
Now to the MX Mechanics race team, we were down a few racers due to injuries, but the racers that showed up gave it all they got. Ben Toye and Myles Bartholomew signed up for 80 cc 12-16, Supermini and Junior 125, racing both days. Ben rode consistently in the 80cc and Supermini both days with a 5th and 4th place finish. Myles rode Saturday and Sunday had a top end failure in the first moto of the day of his 85. Ben and Myles rode Junior 125 on Saturday and Myles on Sunday, both made the main events and gave it their all.
On the Saturday night, Phat Keith got the boys together for the Phat 50 races and MX Mechanics racers were out in full force, turning a 2nd overall in the 50 class with the MX Mechanics – Phat50 CRF50. Special thanks to Keith Walker (www.phat50s.com) for taking the time to organize this.
Our Vet rider Gary Bartholomew went out for one moto on Saturday on his MX Mechanics – Machine Racing Yamaha YZ250F and decided to call it a day when the thunder storms rolled in putting the track under water.
Ryan Gauld turned out a 3rd overall in the +25 Class with Ken Clark hot on his tail the whole race.
The MX101 crew and all the folks at Sand Dee Lee worked really hard to keep things rolling in spite of the weather, we all had a great time and thank them for their hospitality.
See you all at RJ Motorsports, and watch for the draw this coming weekend.
